The M18 Hellcat achieved its impressive speed by maintaining armor no more than 1" thick. Crews took advantage of the speed to minimize the enemy's ability to penetrate its thin armor, outflanking and penetrating the heavily armored German Tiger and Panther tanks. The M18 Hellcat served primarily on the Western Front, but also saw action in the Pacific and Italy. The US military supplied the M18 to Chinese Nationalist forces fighting the Japanese in the Pacific theater. The Hellcat was often used in a fire support role due to its excessive strength against weakly armored Japanese tanks. After the war, the Hellcat remained in service with several nations and is still used by the Venezuelan Army.

In Bolt Action, the Hellcat is available for 124pts (Inexperienced), 155pts (Regular), or 186pts (Veteran). It is armed with one turret-mounted heavy anti-tank gun with a damage value of 7+ (armored car/carrier). Options include adding a pintle-mounted HMG for +25pts and the ability to be a recce vehicle for +10 points. Special rules for the Hellcat include being open-topped and having the option for recce. The product includes a M18 Hellcat plastic kit, a waterslide transfer set, a full color construction and paint guide, and a color, detailed stats, and Bolt Action play card. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, with glue and paints not included.

Players can recreate World War II combat on a tabletop using model troops, tanks, and rules constructed by Bolt Action against one or more opponents. Each side will require painted model troops representing the soldiers, guns, and tanks of their chosen armies. Tabletop encounters occur according to twelve battle scenarios that explain force deployment and victory conditions. Players can pit their wits against each other as they reenact a small part of one of the greatest conflicts in history—World War II. The construction and painting of the models are just as enjoyable as the game itself.
