During World War II, tanks were first utilized to their full potential and formed a crucial component of the armed forces of all major combatants. Tanks are characterized by their rapid mobility, formidable armaments, and remarkable resistance to standard infantry weapons. The Sherman Tank served as the mainstay of the American Army. The breakout from the Normandy beaches and the Bocage region could not have been achieved without the support of armored forces. This product is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue and paints are not included. Players can recreate World War II combat on a tabletop using dice, model troops, tanks, and the rules constructed by Bolt Action, either individually or against one or more opponents. Each opposing side will require painted model troops to represent the soldiers, guns, and tanks of their chosen armies.

Tabletop encounters are conducted according to twelve well-defined battle scenarios, which explain how forces are deployed and how victory is achieved. The remaining task for players is to pit their wits against each other as they reenact a small part of one of history's greatest conflicts – World War II.
