The battles of World War Two had a devastating impact on the entire world. While the Band of Brothers starter set focused on the European Theater after D-Day, our new starter set shifts its focus to the Pacific. It showcases the United States Marine Corps battling Japanese Island defenders in some of the most intense and brutal fights of the War. This new starter set highlights the island-hopping campaigns carried out by the US to reclaim Japanese territory.

In contrast to the land war in Europe, North Africa, and the Soviet Union, where large armies could maneuver and fight over vast open spaces, the Pacific campaign took place on relatively small, densely jungled islands protected by the sea. Each island had to be landed on, fought for, and the defenders rooted out individually. Island Assault! contains two opposing forces set among the many islands in the Pacific theater, and features the Bolt Action 2nd edition rules as well as a scenario booklet to guide players through their first steps in the game. Soon, they will be adding to their army and wreaking havoc on their foes, whether fighting for Uncle Sam or the Emperor!

Players can recreate World War II combat on a tabletop using dice, model troops, tanks, and the Bolt Action rules, pitting one or more opponents against each other. Both sides will need painted model troops representing the soldiers, guns, and tanks of their chosen armies. The tabletop encounters follow twelve closely defined battle scenarios that detail force deployment and victory conditions.

Ultimately, players will test their wits as they reenact a small part of one of the most significant conflicts in history - World War II. The process of building, painting, and playing with the models is just as enjoyable as the game itself, adding to the overall experience. Let the battles begin!
