Bolt Action Churchill Tank 1:56 WWII Wargaming Model Kit

The Churchill, one of the most successful and famous British tanks of the Second World War, is soon arriving to bolster your army, presenting you with the opportunity to acquire 3 of these formidable machines early on. This will allow you to field no less than 7 variants on your battlefield, keeping the enemy guessing! The British Army adopted a doctrine centered around the use of light, fast 'Cruiser Tanks' coupled with slow, better armed and armored 'Infantry Tanks', which were to be employed in smashing the enemy defences with infantry support. The Churchill was a prime example of the latter - one of the heaviest Allied tanks of the war, featuring thicker frontal armour than even the Tiger. Although it suffered from being under-armed, a defect common to most British armored vehicles of the period, it was nevertheless loved by its crews for its unrivalled cross-country ability and lower tendency to 'brew-up' from a direct hit compared to the Sherman.

You may not be surprised to learn that the Churchill was named after the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, who had also been involved with the development of the tank as a weapon during the First World War. Taking the form very reminiscent of earlier WWI tanks, the Vauxhall motors built Churchill was the basis for a slew of variants, from the MkI with a 2pdr gun to the MkVII 75mm guns. Other versions would see more specialist engineering equipment added, including bridging equipment and minesweeping devices, as well as a favored 'close support' option of the 95mm howitzer!

In this new plastic kit, you'll have the opportunity to build 7 turret variations, allowing you to recreate the following marks: MkIII - with 6pdr gun, MkIV - Cast turret with 6 pdr gun, MkV - Cast turret with 95m Howitzer, MkVI - Cast turret and Welded turret with 75mm gun, and the NA 75 AVRE (Armored Vehicle Royal Engineers) with 290mm Petard Mortar (aka the flying dustbin!). This product is supplied unassembled and unpainted, so you can bring these World War II combat vehicles to life through the enjoyable process of construction and painting.

Tabletop encounters take place according to twelve closely defined battle scenarios, where players pit their wits against each other in enacting one small part of the greatest conflict in history - World War II. Build, paint and play - the construction, painting, and watching your models come to life are just as much fun as the game itself!
